I not only grew up listening to Michael’s music, I tried to dance like him, sing like him, and perform like him. Something about his presence as an entertainer draws you in. His energy level coupled with his smooth delivery and dance moves, although attempted on multiple occasions, can NOT be duplicated. (Mike will take your moves and make em better!)

As far as I know, Michael Jackson never really had what most of us would call a normal life. His upbringing in an abusive home and early break into stardom prevented such normalcy; he rarely played with other children, because he had rehearsal, he was terrorized by his father and would continue to suffer constant and painful loneliness throughout his life.

From a very young age Michael and his brothers suffered physical and mental abuse at the hands of his father, enduring constant rehearsals, beatings and debilitating mocking, they were prevented from being children. The fact that the Jackson 5 had become a well respected act, added more difficulty to his life; Michael and his brothers were under constant pressure to realize the dreams of their father Joe Jackson, and being the star of the group, Michael was far from being exempt from the wrath of their controlling and strict disciplinarian father.

By his teens he was a mega star and seeking a solo project to further his growth. Hard work and dedication was nothing to Michael Jackson who soon became a legendary recording artist. The rest is history!

As a child, I can recall seeing the love people had for Michael - it was unbelievable. I mean, you would see people collapse, throw garments on stage, imitate him, in dress and dance moves. Tears streaming, folks literally sobbing a hole in their faces, while swaying to his music with their hands in the air. People from all over the world of every culture and religion would travel FAR and WIDE to see him, buy EVERY album, sing EVERY lyric, and defend him to no end.

Throughout his legal and financial problems and all the negative media, you could hear the voices of disgruntled and disapproving fans. To me, that’s all they were, disgruntled fans, that’s why most of the comments were so aggressively negative, because these were people who secretly revered him!

Throughout his personal life, Michael suffered abuse, being broken spiritually and emotionally, endured the perils of fame and battled illness (lupus and vitiligo). Both personally and professionally Michael Jackson suffered some failures, learned to cope, and evolved far surpassing mega stardom, becoming the consummate entertainer and a symbol of success, hope and generosity through his music and philanthropic efforts. In the past few years, he was more removed from the limelight, spending time with his children, dealing with legal financial woes and nursing his health. In the end, he was an infinitely talented yet deeply troubled star whose mere presence commanded attention, whether positive or negative, his entire life. A fabulous yet tragic life…

I know you never had peace on earth Mike. It was work, media, or fans 24/7.
I hope you’ve finally found the peace you were seeking, Rest In Peace Michael Jackson!

Can't Beat Em Join Em

Barack, Barack, Barack - my brother - and President!

It had been come to my attention long ago that Obama has sworn enemies in the Clinton camp. I clearly remember Hillary fighting until the very end during the democratic candidate selection.

Although I have nothing against perseverance, I do have a few squirrels to settle with her.

She could have gracefully bowed out at some point! After losing - I give her credit - she did endorse then democratic nominee Obama.

But when offered a position by our nations leader for the secretary of state job she refused. I was perplexed again ladies and gentlemen.

Senator Hillary Clinton is reported by CNN saying Obama was "quite persistent and very persuasive". Enlightening me of how inclusive, meek, and smart Obama is for pursuing a dynamic and experienced leader in her, even in the shadows of her smut campaigning.
Showing us all how to:

Befriend an enemy.
Not only plant the seed, nurture it.
Allow God to work and grow the seed, we can't.

It even must have rub off on ole Bill, because this job offer provokes a monumental decision from Hillary. In turn, I would believe such a decision couldn't exist in the Clinton's home without ole Bill in the mist. You?

Ironic to the history of the two families, the Clinton's collectively concurred that taking job would be the best option in helping the country.

Anyway, I again commend Hillary for accepting the job. It took a while but she finally joined the winning team
